Twitterrific 5 Adds Support For Readability And Droplr

May 13, 2013
For the second time in less than a month, popular Twitter client Twitterrific 5 has just received an update that ushers in two new features along with a boatload of improvements. First up, version 5.2.2 adds compatibility with two new services – Readability for bookmarking and Droplr for images. On the improvement side, the read or unread state of tweet timestamps are updated as you scroll, which definitely makes the feature more valuable. As tweets are read, indicators in the timeline tabs are also automatically updated. The app’s outstanding VoiceOver compatibility has also improved as audio feedback will inform a user after performing profile actions like following or unfollowing. And along with a larger font size setting in the iPad version, third-party logins are now cleared out when a service is disabled. Here’s the complete list of bug fixes from the release notes:
• Compose attachment buttons are now disabled during @name autocomplete • Fixed a bug that could cause replies to be counted more than once
• Improved reliability when clearing push notification badges • VoiceOver no longer repeatedly announces new tweet count
• When composing replies, VoiceOver reads text first instead of original tweet
Twitterrific 5 is a universal app for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded in the App Store for $2.99 now. The completely revamped app arrived in the App Store late last year to some high praise, including from our own Christine Chan. An update in late April brought features like Favstar support and Twitter trends.
