WhatsApp Messenger Restores Support For Longer Videos With New Video Picker

August 20, 2013
The popular cross-platform messaging app WhatsApp Messenger has just received a new update on iOS. The latest update to WhatsApp for iOS introduces a new video picker, which effectively restores the ability to send longer videos. Specifically, as noted by iDownloadBlog, you can now send videos of up to a minute and a half in duration. That's instead of only 45 seconds, as previously allowed. The update also brings improvements, particularly with regard to accessibility, to voice messaging, which was introduced to WhatsApp earlier this month. Check out the video below to see this recently added feature in action: If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Moreover, the new WhatsApp update delivers VoiceOver enhancements, bug fixes, and performance improvements. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 4.3 or later, the new version of WhatsApp Messenger is available now in the App Store for free. The app used to go for $0.99, but it made its foray into a freemium subscription-based model last month. At the same time, it was updated to support sending multiple photos at a time, iCloud compatibility for chat history backup, and custom URLs for inter-app operability.
