Couple-Centric App Avocado Updated With iOS 7-Style Design And New Features

September 25, 2013
Avocado — the popular social networking app for pears, I mean, pairs — has been updated to version 1.7. And as it happens, Avocado 1.7 is mainly focused on iOS 7. Indeed, Avocado 1.7 introduces a new design featuring markedly flat and translucent user interface elements. Avocado 1.7 also adds support for iOS 7's Background App Refresh feature, ensuring that the app is up to date every time you open it. The new version of Avocado also includes a new video introduction shown in the sign-in screen. This video introduction features the same couple in the promotional video below, which shows Avocado in its pre-iOS 7 form. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Moreover, the latest update to the app adds a couple of new features to Avocado Unlimited. Launched last January, Avocado Unlimited is a $19.99-per-year subscription that unlocks a number of premium features, including unlimited photos, unlimited lists, and support for videos. And now, Avocado Unlimited also includes animated GIF support and automatic media unfurling, which immediately displays the content for every link posted to a photo or a YouTube or Vimeo video. Also including support for traditional and simplified Chinese, Avocado 1.7 is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later. Couple, which is perhaps Avocado's foremost competitor in the "social networking for two" scene, was already redesigned for iOS 7 last week, on the same day the new operating system was launched.
