Directr 2 Boosts Storyboard-Driven Movie Creation With Notable New Features

September 13, 2013
Directr, the point-and-shoot moviemaking app that essentially puts you in the director's seat with nothing more than your iDevice, has just been updated to version 2.0. Dubbed Directr 2, the new version of the app highlights one of the app's key features that set it apart from other video-sharing apps: storyboard-driven creation. With Directr 2, you can take advantage of storyboards handcrafted by professionals. These storyboards come complete with music, titles, and shot-by-shot guidance that enable you to easily make great movies. Directr 2 offers hundreds of storyboards, which you can search through or browse by category with the app's new storyboard library. The app also presents a new storyboard preview feature that lets you see the pieces of a movie before you start shooting. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. In addition, Directr 2 introduces the following new features:
  • Directr Cloud Roll to privately store your footage for safekeeping and use in future movies
  • QuickRecord mode lets you just start shooting
  • Record UNLIMITED length and number of scenes, whatever is needed to tell the story
  • Trim scenes and caption them right in-line
  • Add audio for narration, singing and interviews with the ability to exclude recorded audio
  • Easily add, delete and move scenes
  • Built-in soundtracks with multiple options of curated music, or import your own music
  • Up to 3X faster rendering time
  • Upload right from Camera Roll, use footage from any app
Directr 2 is available now in the App Store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
