Slacker Radio Makes The Jump To Apple's iOS 7 And Includes A New 'My Vibe' Feature

September 18, 2013
Slacker Radio isn’t going to let Apple’s iTunes Radio get it down. The popular streaming music service is out with a significant new update for its universal app. It has been completely reengineered for Apple’s iOS 7, and also includes a new feature called “My Vibe." Version 5.0.5 includes a streamlined interface that compliments the minimalistic design of iOS 7. As a result, each screen within the app now takes on a layered look like that of Apple’s new mobile operating system. The new My Vibe feature offers handcrafted stations based on your mood, activity, and time of day. For example, stations featured on a Wednesday morning include those for waking up, exercising, concentrating, and driving. Stations featured are “Yoga Flow,” “Singing In The Shower,” “Post-Rock Soundscapes,” and many more. According to John Hayase, Slacker’s chief product officer:
Slacker’s team of passionate music curators has spent years creating hundreds of stations, countdowns, original programming and playlists to take the effort out of finding great music. And our new app for iOS 7 has been completely rebuilt to connect our users to the best listening experience anywhere, faster and easier than ever.
Earlier this year, AppAdvice called Slacker Radio one of the best streaming music services of 2013. It is available now in the App Store.
