Surprise Attack! Activision Deploys Call Of Duty: Strike Team In The App Store

September 5, 2013
In a rather unexpected development, Activision has today released a brand new game in its hugely popular Call of Duty series. And this new game, which is said to have been "built from the ground up for mobile and tablet devices," is initially available exclusively on iOS. It's called Call of Duty: Strike Team, and it has the following backstory:
The year is 2020. Tensions run high amongst the world’s superpowers. In a surprise attack, the U.S. finds themselves in a war with an unknown enemy. Your mission is to lead a Joint Special Operations Team in a global effort to hunt down those responsible.
Call of Duty: Strike Team offers two game modes, namely, campaign mode and survival mode. In the former mode, you get to play through a single-player campaign spanning various cinematic moments and locations. And in the latter mode, you have to fend off waves of increasingly difficult enemies primarily to achieve global leaderboard domination. The game also lets you customize the members of your squad with different upgrades for their weapons and abilities. But perhaps the most notable feature of Call of Duty: Strike Team is its support for dynamic switching between first-person view and third-person view. With first-person view, you're free to run and gun your way toward victory. And with third-person view, you're given a better perspective to reconnoiter and coordinate squad attacks. Call of Duty: Strike Team is available now in the App Store for $6.99. The game is compatible with iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, fifth-generation iPod touch, iPad 2, third-generation iPad, fourth-generation iPad, and iPad mini. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
