Kanvas Photo-Sharing App Updated With iOS 7 Redesign, Chat Feature And More

November 24, 2013
Kanvas — the photo-sharing app that lets you express yourself with a mix of fun backgrounds, overlays, stickers, text, and sound — has just received another update. This new update happens to be Kanvas' iOS 7 update, as it presents a new interface design inspired by the simplicity and flatness of the latest major version of Apple's mobile operating system. And speaking of "inspired," the new version of Kanvas encourages to get just that by shuffling through the app's collection of images. Just tap the shuffle button when choosing a background to get a random image to use in your creation or "kanvas." Kanvas now also lets you use captions to describe your kanvases with words, #tags, and @mentions. In addition, it lets you share your kanvases on Instagram. A couple of days ago, it was reported that Instagram might gain a messaging function soon. Well, Kanvas has beat Instagram to it, since the app has also just been updated with a chat feature that lets you privately chat with your friends using text and, of course, stickers. Also including bug fixes and speed improvements, the new version of Kanvas is available now in the App Store for free. The app is now optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later. Released last July, Kanvas received its first update in August. That update introduced remixing and reposting of kanvases along with support for sharing kanvases via Kik, email, and SMS.
