Google Search For iOS Gains New Winter Olympics 2014 Google Now Card

January 29, 2014
Google has just issued a new update to the Google Search app for iOS. Admittedly, the latest update to Google Search for iOS is but a small one. But it may turn out to be a significant one if you're all for keeping abreast of developments in Sochi, Russia, next month. That's because the update adds support for a new Winter Olympics 2014 Google Now card. The card is set to show information about medals and upcoming events in the highly anticipated sports festival, which is scheduled to take place from Feb. 7 to 23. Also including "a couple of minor improvements," the new version of Google Search is available now in the App Store for free. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 6.0 or later. Google Search's previous update, which arrived last month, was decidedly a bigger one in that it brought a new iOS 7-inspired design with full-screen browsing, fast image search on iPad, and smarter integration with the Google Maps app. See also: Sochi 2014 Guide Goes Universal For iPad Ahead Of Olympic Games In February, The App Store Begins Prepping For The 2014 Winter Olympic Games In Sochi, Russia, and Ahead Of Sochi 2014, The IOC Releases The Olympic Athletes’ Hub App For iPhone.
