Microsoft Releases My Apps For Windows Azure Active Directory Users On iOS

March 13, 2014
Microsoft has just released a brand new iOS app called My Apps - Windows Azure Active Directory. As its name suggests, My Apps - Windows Azure Active Directory is for users of Windows Azure Active Directory. But what exactly is Windows Azure Active Directory, you ask? Well, Windows Azure Active Directory is a cloud-based platform offered by Microsoft for advanced identity governance and application access management. According to Microsoft:
Windows Azure Active Directory is a service that provides identity and access management capabilities in the cloud. In much the same way that Active Directory is a service made available to customers through the Windows Server operating system for on-premises identity management, Windows Azure Active Directory (Windows Azure AD) is a service that is made available through Windows Azure for cloud-based identity management.
Now, if you're part of an organization that uses Windows Azure Active Directory, you can use the new My Apps app's single sign-on support to log in to different cloud apps and services using your single username and password combination. Consequently, instead of having to use different accounts to log in to Facebook, Twitter, Dropbox, SkyDrive, and other apps and services hosted in Windows Azure Active Directory, you can just use My Apps to log in with a single account. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, My Apps - Windows Azure Active Directory is available now in the App Store for free.
