Cydia Tweak: Goo.gle Shortener Brings Link Shortening To Apple's iOS

April 5, 2014

Goo.gle Shortener for Action Menu is a recently released jailbreak tweak that makes it easier than ever for jailbreakers to shorten links on their iOS device. You can download the package now free of charge on the Cydia Store, and it’s optimized for iOS 7 and ARM64-devices.

The new jailbreak tweak is a no-frills package that does one job, and does it well. Once installed, a new icon is added to the iOS action menu (the “copy and paste” menu) marked “Goo.gle.” The action menu appears as a pop-up interface when users select text on an iOS device, and provided a URL has been selected, touching the “Goo.gle” option shortens the selected link.

This is then copied to the iOS clipboard and is ready for users to paste elsewhere in the mobile OS. Take a look:

You can toggle the iOS action menu at-large using a dedicated preferences pane that’s added to the Settings app, but Goo.gle Shortener for Action Menu doesn’t have any individual options in need of configuration. Instead, it’ll work as advertised immediately upon being installed.

As mentioned, you can download Goo.gle Shortener for Action Menu on the Cydia Store free of charge, and it’s optimized for iOS 7 and ARM64-devices.
