Stellar visual storytelling app Steller goes 2.0 with new design and new features
A significant update has just unfolded for the “stellar” visual storytelling app Steller.
Steller is a truly mobile app that allows you to create, explore, follow, and share multi-page stories using photos, videos, and text.
Released last March, Steller has just been updated to version 2.0 with a number of welcome enhancements.
Steller 2.0 introduces the ability to post comments on stories and the ability to use hashtags in stories and comments. It also lets you search for stories by keywords or hashtags and @mention users in stories and comments.
The new version of Steller also brings design tweaks that, most notably, make for simpler navigation using the new bottom tab menu. Moreover, it introduces a new Explore section for discovering trending and featured stories on food, adventure, style, DIY, and other categories, including a new one for the most viewed stories.
The updated app also lets you pinch and zoom to view stories in your feed in grid view or full-size covers. Support for registering via email (in addition to Facebook and Twitter sign-up) and blocking other users from viewing your profile and stories is also included in Steller 2.0.
Steller 2.0 is available now on the App Store for free.
The app remains optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 7.0 or later, in keeping with its decidedly mobile-first approach — as opposed to similar Web-based services and iPad-only apps like Storehouse.
