Star Wars: Galactic Defense tower defense game out now on the App Store worldwide

October 30, 2014

Not a long time ago (just over a month ago, in fact), Star Wars: Galactic Defense was announced. Now, the game has been released on the App Store worldwide.

Developed by DeNA in partnership with Disney and Lucasfilm, Star Wars: Galactic Defense is a free-to-play tower defense game featuring characters, locations, and storylines based on the “Star Wars” films:

Battles sprawl diverse locations from the Star Wars universe. Traverse more than 100 different battle scenarios, and experience a mix of adrenaline-fueled encounters that span both the prequel and classic eras. Command up to three Star Wars champions like Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Yoda at once, each featuring unique strengths and powerful abilities. The placement and execution of these defenses are do-or-die decisions.

Like most other “Star Wars”-branded games, Star Wars: Galactic Defense has you choosing which side to fight for: light or dark. Your choice of side determines the distinct options that will come into play in the game.

But whichever side you’re on, Star Wars: Galactic Defense challenges you to fortify and upgrade your tower defense as you seek to defeat the other side.

The game also has social features, enabling you to connect with your friends to either exchange resources with or compete against.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 7.0 or later, Star Wars: Galactic Defense is available now on the App Store for free.

Earlier this month, Disney pulled a couple of “Star Wars”-branded games, Star Wars: Tiny Death Star and Star Wars: Assault Team, from the App Store. The company confirmed that the move was made so that it could focus on “priority titles” including Star Wars: Commander, which was updated last week with new content and Today widget support.
