Disney Store for iOS now lets you buy with Apple Pay on your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus

November 21, 2014

Disney Store has been supporting Apple Pay in its chain of “Frozen” and other Disney merchandise specialty stores, as demoed by Apple SVP Eddy Cue himself when he went on a shopping spree in California for a recent local news segment. But now, it has also begun supporting Apple’s new way to pay in its official iOS app.

Thanks to its latest update, Disney Store for iOS now offers Apple Pay as an easier and more secure checkout option than manually entering debit, credit, or Disney gift card information. Of course, the app lets you authorize Apple Pay purchases using Touch ID on iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, although it hasn’t been optimized for the new iPhone’s larger screens.

Note that Disney Store’s Apple Pay checkout option is not yet supported on the Touch ID-equipped iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3.

Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad running iOS 8.0 or later, the new version of the Disney Store app is available now on the App Store for free.

The updated app also features Disney Mobile mailbox and push notifications and includes minor bug fixes.
