MLB.com At Bat updated with support for Apple CarPlay and more

With baseball season starting to heat up, the MLB.com At Bat app has just been updated with a number of nice new features.

Most importantly, version 8.2 now supports Apple’s CarPlay entertainment system. That will make it easier for users to listen to live audio from each game.

I just tried the app out on my CarPlay system, but the menu was blank. More than likely, that’s because no games are scheduled until later tonight.

The update also allows users to share video highlights from the media player interface. Finally, embedded tweets, GIFs, and photos will now appear in the app’s news articles.

MLB.com At Bat is a universal app designed for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad/iPad mini. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

With an in-app purchase of $2.99 per month or $19.99 per year, you can unlock access to the premium subscription that includes gameday audio, in-game highlights, live look-ins, and more.

And if you’re an Apple Watch user, you can also keep track of all the baseball action on Apple’s latest device. Here’s an interactive preview from our sister site WatchAware.
