For the longest time, TheCodingMonkeys had been known for developing iOS board games, including Carcassonne and Lost Cities. But in August last year, the studio came out with its first ever non-board game title in the form of the twitch puzzle game Rules.

And now, TheCodingMonkeys have entered yet another new genre, interactive fiction, with the release of One Button Travel.

Beginning with a push of a button, One Button Travel is a journey through a puzzle game in the guise of a piece of interactive fiction. It presents an interactive novel of some 55,000 words with storylines that branch in and out depending on the decisions that you, the reader and traveler, make.

Indeed, reminiscent as it is of such iOS games as 80 Days, Device 6, and Lifeline, One Button Travel is a game of choice and consequence … and survival.

In the game, you have to explore and make sense of a mysterious future world that counts horned beasts among its population. And beneath the game’s intriguing story flows an undercurrent of themes that are all too familiar in the here and now, such as immigration and bureaucracy.

And did I mention that One Button Travel has a wonderful look and feel to it? Take a look:
