Moleskine Timepage calendar app updated with new heatmap month view

Moleskine Timepage, the elegantly designed calendar app from the eponymous notebook company, has just been updated with a significant new feature that should make planning for the holiday season and the new year easier and more enjoyable.

The heat is on

The new feature in question is the much requested month view. But Timepage’s month view is no ordinary month view. It’s actually a heatmap of your schedule that lets you see at a glance when you’re busy and when you’re free, with busier days indicated with stronger colors.

To go to the new month view, just swipe the timeline to the right (as the month view is found to the left of the timeline).

Timepage’s new month view also supports a number of gestures. Tap on a day to see the schedule for that day, long-press on a day to add an event to it, swipe up or down to change months, and tap the month name to return to the current month. You can also press and hold the calendar circles at the bottom to filter the heatmap by individual calendars, enabling you to assess your busyness at home, at work, or in your social circles.

Where’d the weather go?

As mentioned, the new month view is shown to the left of the timeline. If you’re an existing user of Timepage, you might be wondering where the week weather view has gone, since it used to be where the month view is now. Well, fret not since the week weather is now shown when you long-press anywhere on the timeline.

Timepage keeps getting better

The latest update to Timepage also adds a new larger text option for event names, which you can enable in the app’s preferences, and new theme colors, including Peach Blossom Pink, Pebble Grey, and Sunflower Yellow.

Furthermore, it improves the app’s reliability with its Apple Watch extension, smoothens transitions, and delivers fixes for app icon badges and address book stability.

Designed for iPhone and iPod touch, Moleskine Timepage is available on the App Store for $4.99.

Timepage is highly recommended, as noted in our review, “if you’re a fan of the Moleskine style notebooks and wish that you had their classic planner style on your iPhone for managing your schedule.”

Moleskine Timepage complements Moleskin’s other apps on iOS: Moleskine Journal and the Creative Cloud-connected Moleskine sketching app.
