Getting Stuff Done
December 8, 2015

The popular app for saving articles and videos has received a hefty update today, Dec. 8, bringing great new options. Pocket now offers recommendations from other people, the ability to follow users, and easy navigation of your important items among its list of useful features.

PocketNew Pocket features

While Pocket introduced the recommended item feature a few months ago, the app now takes it a step further. Not only can you see recommendations from other users, but you can recommend your own items as well. So, when you want to share that terrific AppAdvice article, just tap to recommend it to others and share it on Facebook and Twitter at the same time.

PocketYou can follow those interesting Pocket people and see what items they are recommending. And, if you decided to connect your Facebook and Twitter accounts then you can find your friends easily.

You may notice a nice change in the navigation of the app now as well. There are new tabs for My List, Recommended, Notifications, and Profile making it super simple to access those important sections. The filter menu has also been updated to provide easier access to your favorites, archives, and tags.

PocketTerrific way to discover

These are pretty nice updates to an already extremely useful app. I know more people that use Pocket than do not. So, being able to look at what they recommend is a neat addition and having the ability to share my own suggestions makes it a complete new feature package.

Pocket is designed for iPhone and iPad and available for free on the App Store. There is an in-app purchase option for Pocket Premium which provides a permanent library, advanced search, and suggested tags for $4.99 per month or $44.99 per year.
