Good news folks, Apple just released the pre-final version of iOS 4.2 to members of the Apple developer program. iOS 4.2 Gold Master, or GM as it's called should be the exact version that Apple will be shipping very soon (hopefully) to the public. That is, unless any major bugs are found in this version.

Apple has released further details on their upcoming wireless printing feature, and it's being named AirPrint. AirPrint will allow users to print directly from select iDevices to local printers without the need to first transfer documents to a computer.

In theory, Apple's inclusion of iOS 4's software screen orientation lock, available in the Fast Task Switcher, would cause the physical orientation lock switch on the iPad to become unnecessary. So what is Apple to do with it? Apparently they will be transforming the orientation lock switch back into a mute switch as originally intended.
