brewDoodle is a new community and handy app for friendly home brewing. It's brand new and definitely casual. Think of it more like talking to the guy at work that makes beer..
The app provides easy-to-follow introductory information including step-by-step instructions and links to how-to videos about brewing and beermaking-- where to buy things, good books, how to get started, beer kits, ingredients, fermenting, brewing and kegging equipment, yeast, bottles, caps, recipes, tools-- anything to help. Open, friendly discussions about what works and what doesn't, tips for success and where to solve problems or, get ideas or buy ingredients or equipment. Introductory tutorials, links to videos, detailed step-by-step processes, creating/picking things up online from ingredients lists and places to find and share brewing recipes.
The app also provides live links to several popular online specialty stores for supplies, great beer and anything else related to beermaking. Find and shop for recommended equipment, ingredients, wine kits, bottles, corks, books, videos, buckets, yeast, hops, grains, malt extract or anything else with one easy click on green buttons strewn throughout the app and forum.
Also included is a Private Brew Journal to capture your notes, photos and recipes, and share them if you want.
brewDoodle also provides mapping-- including showing approximate locations of other nearby users, user nicknames, etc. Your actual location is never shared with anyone-- your privacy is absolutely critical to us-- we will never share or sell any details, private batch notes, locations, or even bother you if you don't want us to.
brewDoodle is brand spanking new. Be the " first on your block "-- talk us up to your friends, beer making club, brew pubs, work buddies, etc., etc., and help make it great!
Once we get a significant amount of purchases via the one-click green buttons, we hope to be able to offer a brewDoodle discount or rebate...so please help us get there by punching the green buttons and buying things via Amazon.
Open mic: please email us with suggestions, information, whatever you would want to share.
There's another sister app, called corkaDoodle, that is focused on hobby winemaking, if that's more your thing... (or you have multiple alcoholic hobbies).
One of the problems with making beer and giving it away is sometimes people tend to just hang on to the bottles. Not really the best use of your brew, in most cases. To which, brewDoodle says:
"Drink up. I'll make more."
