Microbiology X is an effective app for students at the AP or introduction college level. With its easy interface, it integrates flashcards, corresponding quizzes and a scratch pad to take notes or work out problems. Between the 19 chapters across 9 units, it should cover everything you need for class. You can start from the biological basics, explore eukaryotic and prokaryotic organism specifics and finally investigate various medical and genetic modifications. Each unit builds on the previous, but the app is built so that chapters can be studied out of order. Each chapter has review materials integrated into it.

The app maximizes productivity so that whenever you have five minutes of free time, you can pull out your phone and cover the topics you don’t understand quickly and efficiently.
