App Registration Criteria

*Currently you must be a licensed acupuncturist with a NPI# to create a practitioner account

OMPick App for Practitioners will cross reference the NPIdb and accept Acupuncturists that are registered. Therefore, if you do not have a valid Acupuncturist Taxanomy number through NPI then you should not be able to register yourself as a practitioner through the app.
Standards will be created for International Acupuncturists (with input from licensed International Acupuncturists and credible Acupuncture Organizations)

NPI# (National Provider Identifier) is a unique 10-digit identification number issued to health care providers in the US by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in accordance with the Health and Insurance Portability Act (HIPPA) of 1996. Healthcare providers acquire an NPI# to identify themselves in a standard way in the industry.

The only health care provider identifier that can be used for identification purposes in standard transactions by covered entities. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) requires that covered entities use NPI numbers in standard transactions.
