The Pint-Sized DJI Spark Drone Offers Fun Features, Reasonable Price Tag
Popular drone manufacturer DJI has taken the wraps off its smallest drone yet, the new reasonably priced Spark.
The DJI Spark weighs less than 11 ounces.
Weighing less than 11 ounces, the small drone is designed specifically to capture photos and videos. It can capture 12 megapixel images and 1,080p video.
While the Spark can be controlled with an iOS app or dedicated controller, easily the most interesting feature is the Gesture Mode. Pilots can send the drone away, take a selfie, call it back and other tasks with hand gestures.
You can take advantage of a number of different shooting modes along with two new features only available on the Spark. Pano Mode creates horizontal or vertical panoramas by adjusting the gimbal and stitching the images together.
Much like the iPhone 7 Plus Portrait Mode, ShallowFocus can put part of an image in focus while the rest of the image is soft.
The drone can fly for up to 16 minutes on a single charge.
You can preorder the DJI Spark now for $499.99. Buyers can select from one of five different colors – Alpine White, Sky Blue, Meadow Green, Lava Red, and Sunrise Yellow. Preorders will begin to ship in mid-June.
A Fly More combo with additional accessories including a bag, two batteries, and more costs $699.99.
