Pixelmator Photo Receives Big Update With Photo Library Integration and More

October 1, 2019

Originally landing back in April, Pixelmator Photo brought a number of desktop-class features to iPad users. And with the first new update, the app is getting even better.

Ready for iPadOS 13

Easily the best new feature is the ability to manage all of your different edits directly from the Photo Library. Previously, each image you wanted to edit needed to be imported into the app.

You can also view images in the improved Files app in iPadOS 13. That also includes the ability to view images on external storage.

All of the changes made by the app are nondestructive, meaning you can always revert the original image at any time.

Another new feature is the ability to batch edit photos with just a few taps.

The app fully supports RAW photos from an iPhone or more than 500 types of DSLR cameras.

Users can take advantage of machine learning technology to better edit images. ML Enhance was trained on more than 20 million professional photos and can automatically take care of more subtle details of an image like white balance, exposure, shadow, and highlights.

And ML Crop will intelligently crop photos for the best look possible.

Only for the iPad, Pixelmator Photo can be downloaded now on the App Store for $4.99.
