Sony recently announced, according to CNBC, that it will release five games in the App Store before March 2018.

The titles will be released through Sony subsidiary ForwardWorks which is focused on mobile gaming. There was no announcement on what titles will be coming to the App Store. The games will first appear in Japan and other Asian markets.

While the company has its own mobile gaming platform with PS Vita, the device has generally been a flop.

Sony will be following in the footsteps of Nintendo, who has already made a splash in the App Store.

Along with the hugely popular Pokemon Go from Niantic, the company released Miitomo earlier this year.

And at the special media event in September to introduce the iPhone 7, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto surprised the crowd to announce Super Mario Run.

Arriving in time for the holiday season on both the iPhone and iPad, the game features a one-hand mode with tapping controls that let you control Mario’s jumps, movement, and more.

The goal of the game is to collect as many gold coins as you can before you move on to the next level. It’s not a full-fledged console game, but hey, we don’t have any complaints.

There is also a battle mode, named Toad Rally, where you can try to beat other player high scores. All of the coins that you collect in the game can be used to upgrade the environment.

You can even sign up now to be notified when the game is released.
