Pocket Cycle Will Let You Know When It Is Time To Have A Baby

February 27, 2013

Pocket Cycle - Period & Fertility tracking for BOTH of you. ($0.99) by Perigee is a great way to plan a weekend trip, predict when not to go swimming, and even get ready to have a baby. A woman’s cycle is usually a private thing, but with this app, you can share with your partner so you are both in the know.

Users start by entering some very personal information. Don’t worry. You won’t be giving anyone your credit card number. First, state your gender. If you are male, you’ll have to wait to be invited by your lady friend before you can have access to the rest of this app. If you are female, you’ll be taken to the next step.

Next, you will select the start and end date for your period cycle from a calendar. Then, you will select how long your cycle usually lasts. Based on this information, and using the Standard Days Method (SDM) research information from the Science of Reproductive Health at Georgetown University, the app will generate a calendar that shows your period, fertility days and ovulation day.

Each section is displayed with a different color. You can either view your cycle on the ovulation wheel, or by seeing it on a calendar grid. When accessing the wheel, you can adjust your cycle based on the current situation. Most women aren’t totally regular and this is a great way to make changes that will affect your future plans.

Once you’ve entered your information, you can invite your partner through Facebook, or register your email address. Don’t worry. Your cycle won’t be posted to any social networking site. This is only to help you get in contact with your partner. There is also a reminders setting to help you remember important days of your cycle. If you are trying to have a baby, it might be a good idea to get reminders for your most fertile days. You can even set a reminder to take your birth control pills.

This app is great for multiple reasons. It is a wonderful way for people trying to start a family to keep track of the best days to make the effort. It is also great for making future plans. If your partner wants to go to Brazil on vacation, you won’t have to change the date if it comes at an inopportune time.

The app also features a four-digit passcode option so you can keep unwanted snoopers from accessing the information.

If you are trying to plan a family, or want to keep your partner in the loop on when are the best days to see you in a bathing suit, then this is a great app. It is ideal for couples that want to keep track of a female’s most personal information in a discreet and tactful way.
