Secret Shrine (Free) by Coolbuddy.com is a puzzle game that involves solving riddles to claim your prize and leave the shrine in one piece. Although the game is rather short, the puzzles are challenging. It’ll take a little while for you to figure them out.
I can’t figure out if you’re a proper archaeologist or a grave robber. I suppose the only thing that separates the two is where the artifacts turn up. Donate them to a museum, and you’re a proper investigator of the past. Sell them on the black market or to a rich client, and you’re a basic thief. I’m going to imagine that Indiana Jones is yelling, “It belongs in a museum,” at you when you finally acquire your prize.
There are several puzzles that you have to work out. Like other escape puzzles, you can combine objects that are in your inventory to make them something new.
To navigate around the shrine, tap right above the inventory slots to move backwards, and tap on the left and right sides of the screen to move sideways.
There are several clues hidden around the shrine to help you solve the puzzles. However, if you can’t figure out the puzzle from the clues, you’re pretty much stuck. Well, unless you want to buy a walkthrough. The walkthrough costs $1.99. Last time, I was able to find a walkthrough on the Internet to help readers avoid having to buy it. I didn’t have any such luck this time.
I learned by playing another escape game that some people genuinely hate walkthroughs. They think it ruins the entire purpose of the game. For those people, this app would be perfect. There aren’t any little nudges or hints for you to rely on.
