WeHoTV is the City of West Hollywood’s Emmy-winning local governmental broadcast television station and digital programming network. WeHoTV has been recognized for its innovative and creative content featuring world-renowned talents.

West Hollywood, California, is like no other city in the world and WeHoTV connects viewers — whether down the street or across the globe — to timely city news and information.

WeHoTV features live and streaming coverage of civic meetings and cultural events and offers viewers WeHoTV News and WeHoTV NewsBytes with an inside look at what’s going on each month in West Hollywood.

The City of West Hollywood is located in the heart of metropolitan Los Angeles. The City was founded in 1984 by an unlikely coalition of lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender (LGBT) people, seniors, and rent control advocates. With only 1.9-square-miles and 35,000 residents, West Hollywood is a small city with a big impact. It brims with progressive activism and community pride, and has become one of the most influential small cities in the nation. People from all over the world visit West Hollywood to experience its iconic destinations, such as The Sunset Strip, The Pacific Design Center, and Historic Route 66.

With approximately 40 percent of the City’s residents identifying as LGBT, the City of West Hollywood has been one of the most outspoken advocates for the legal rights of LGBT people. Today’s openly gay Councilmembers still receive international attention for being out and proud as elected officials.

The City of West Hollywood is home to a thriving community of people from regions of the former Soviet Union. There are nearly 4,000 people who live in the City who identify a former country of the Soviet Union as their primary ancestry representing approximately 11 percent of the City’s total population.

Each June, West Hollywood is the epicenter of regional LGBT pride festivities. Every October, the City hosts one of the most unique Halloween gatherings in the world.
