Apple.com Hacked, Buy iPhone 3G S Without AT&T Contract?
June 11, 2009
It seems as if Apple.com isn't as hack-proof as one would expect.
iTalkiPhone is reporting via TheiPhoneBlog that there is a way to order yourself a shiny new iPhone 3G S without that nasty AT&T contract.
According to one of iTalkiPhone's forum admins, there is a way to "hack" into Apple's online store and order a non-subsidized iPhone 3G S, non-subsidized meaning that you will still be paying $599 and $699 for your new device. The only real advantage of using this method is that you won't be stuck with an AT&T contract. The device will still be locked to AT&T, however.
Several people in the forums have stated that the hack has worked out perfectly for them, which should mean that their iPhone 3G S will be arriving safely at their door just like the rest of us. That is, of course, unless Apple or AT&T puts a stop to these shenanigans.
Just to be clear, we don't condone this kind of behavior. We are simply reporting on an interesting piece of news, and it is quite interesting, isn't it?
