Freeverse first demoed Warpack Grunts at this year's iPhone Launch Party during WWDC '09. The demo showed off some of the Cannon Fodder inspired gameplay, but since then we haven't heard much of anything about the title, that is until now. Freeverse has just sent us a tutorial video for the game to help you get ready for its imminent release.
The video shows off the top-down squad based action where you will be in control of a squad of grunts who are armed to the teeth with M-16s, grenades, sniper rifles, and more. Controlling the grunts is fairly straight forward. Simply touch and drag your finger where you want the squad to go, and you can double-tap on enemies to fire. You will also be able to command helicopters and tanks in the same fashion.
Warpack Grunts will feature 40 levels, online leader boards, and a special unloackable survival mode to add to the longevity of the game.
Warpack Grunts should be available in the App Store "soon" according to Freeverse. If we are able to come across something more specific, we will pass it along to you.
