The third annual iPhoneDevCamp takes place on July 31st through August 2nd, 2009 and there are still some tickets available, but space is extremely limited. This year's iPhoneDevCamp will be hosted by Yahoo! in Sunnyvale, CA.  The event is held to allow iPhone developers, designers, and entrepreneurs to work together on a variety of projects.  This is a iPhone developer event, not a user event or a basic training opportunity, so don't expect someone to hold your hand.
"iPhoneDevCamp is an event for iPhone developers and designers with some previous experience on the platform, either the Native SDK or the web. Participants are expected to bring their knowledge, and extend their skills with connections to other developers and designers."
"Attendees will include Cocoa Touch developers, web developers, UI designers, and testers, all working together over the weekend. Development projects will include both solo and team efforts. While some attendees will wish to work solo during the event, we encourage attendees to team up, based on expertise, to work in ad-hoc project development teams. All attendees should be prepared to work on a development project during the event with demos and awards taking place during the final day."
iphonedevcampgroupThe registration fee is $50 this year, and for good reason.  The iPhoneDevCamp is a non-profit event, but these things cost a lot of money and time to put on.  The $50 covers meals, badges, banners, and they hope t-shirts and giveaways.  If there is money left over for some reason, the attendees will vote on where it should go. The event draws people from all over the world, and space is capped at 500 attendees this year.  Tickets are selling fast, so if you plan on attending you must register in advance on their website. If you aren't in the Sunnyvale area, you can always attend one of the satellite events.  These events are Barcamp-style events that will be held concurrent with the main event.  The iPhoneDevCamp website has a full list of satellite events that will be taking place all over the globe. So, if you are an iPhone developer who wants to take part in iPhoneDevCamp 3, you have options.
