A Quest Of Knights Onrush - Chillingo's Free Promotional Game Hits App Store

The words "free" and "promotional" don't normally indicate a must-download game, but Chillingo really has something going with A Quest of Knights Onrush for the iPhone and iPod touch. A Quest of Knights Onrush was developed and published as a marketing tool for Knights Onrush, a castle-defense game with tons of touch-based interactivity.  But even though its sole purpose is to sell another game, A Quest of Knights Onrush is actually able to stand on its own and Chillingo is fully aware of that. A Quest of Knights Onrush features the same graphical assets from Knights Onrush, but contains a completely different style of gameplay than the game its trying to sell.  The game is a side-scroller with an on-screen joystick on your left and combat buttons on your right.  The goal is to simply kill every enemy in your path.  Think Zombieville, or even better Castle Crashers for the Xbox 360, just without some of the extras.  If this promotional game succeeds at the App Store, Chillingo has said that they may make it into a full-featured game, one that includes:

• Multiple levels with different backgrounds and enemies.
• More enemies, objects, abilities.
• 3 different heroes to choose from, each with unique abilities and leveling system.
• Better AI.
• Bosses.
• Online scores.

So go and give it a try, and by doing so you may just force Chillingo to appease the masses with a premium version of this hack and slash side-scroller.  A Quest of Knights Onrush is available in the App Store for free.
