Yahoo Says "My Bad," Retracts Complaint About App Approval Process

You know that awful sinking feeling you get when you call someone out on something and later find out that they really did no wrong?  Yahoo! Messenger product manager Sarah Bacon probably experienced that feeling after posting a complaint about Apple's flaky approval process only to find out that she misunderstood the whole situation, and later had to retract the statement. According to AppleInsider, the original blog post by Bacon was entitled "And so we wait... on Apple" and in it she blamed Apple for the delay of the latest update to Yahoo! Messenger for the iPhone and iPod touch.  As it turns out, Yahoo! had actually pulled the update from the approval process to make additional changes, something Bacon apparently wasn't aware of.
"If you want all of the gory details… Two weeks ago we submitted an updated version of Yahoo! Messenger for the iPhone to the App Store for approval, but withdrew it to make some additional fixes and enhancements. Doing so reset the approval process timeline" said Bacon.
The Yahoo! Messenger update has been re-submitted to Apple and according to Bacon, "is well within the timeframe for their approval process." I suppose you can look at this from a couple of different perspectives.  We are all human and we make mistakes, but Bacon is the Yahoo! Messenger product manager and she should probably be more aware of what exactly is going on with said product.  However, it is also Apple's approval process she was dealing with, which makes it that much easier to jump to conclusions. We can at least take one positive from this whole thing, the Yahoo! Messenger update should be arriving in the App Store in no time, that is unless Yahoo! decides to pull it from the approval process once again.
