The NBA Launches Live Game Video Streaming To Your iPhone

NBA League Pass Mobile just popped on the App Store and if you like Basketball, you're going to love it. It's a little pricey ($40) but it allows you to watch over 40 games a week, wherever you are, live on your iPhone. It even works over 3G! That being said you might want to stick to wifi to enjoy the app's full potential, since 3G connections are limited to a very low bit rate (Thanks AT&T!). There is only one caveat, local blackout games cannot be viewed using NBA League Pass Mobile. The app actually uses GPS to see where you are are and blocks out the local games. It's also being reported that NBA is looking to partner with regional sports providers to try to offer in-market access to games, which would remove this nuisance and make this app perfect. On top of allowing you to watch an incredible amount of live content it also brings you push alerts, live statistics and you can actually re-watch all those games using the on-demand function up to 48 hours after each game. Unfortunately NBA League Pass customers do not get a discount on this app, and have to shell out the full $39.99 for the mobile version. Earlier this week the NBA launched NBA Digital ($10) which allows you to follow the audio commentary of the game (could be more practical if you're planning to use this at work). The best part of NBA digital is that it is not subject to the same blackout limitations so you can stream audio from the local audio game! It's already available in the American and Canadian App Store and the NBA is planning to roll it out to the rest of the world in only a few weeks. Is this gonna be enough to calm your Basketball cravings ? [via Newteevee.com]
