A Design House Clusters iPods Into A Giant Touch Display

The Japanese design house PROTOTYPE came up with a neat design concept that would consist of 500 iPods on a wall working together. The idea is to make a giant touch screen that would display some sort of chain reaction when someone interacts with one of the devices.
They actually produced a first proof of concept using 20 units, have a look :
