Is This The New iTablet Interaction Method?
December 24, 2009
Apple gets an important amount of patents granted all along the year. We always keep somewhat of an eye on them because they are a good indicator of what's upcoming in the industry but so few of them actually ever come to life.
This time however, it seems like we can once again connect the dots. As you read earlier today, a source told the NYTimes that you'll be surprised by the way you can interact with the new iTablet.
Well, surprisingly, Apple just got granted a new patent that presents exactly this, a new way to interact with a touchscreen. It consists of having the touchscreen give you physical feedback and be able to change its surface on the fly.
For example imagine launching the keyboard, just like on an iPhone. Thanks to a complicated underlying system, a part of the touchscreen will suddenly feel like an actual keyboard. And if you listen to everybody today, this could very well be the rumored interaction method.
How do you like it ?
