Apple Buys An Ad Network

According to the WSJ, which seems to have a snitch in Cupertino, Apple isn’t quite done with its Christmas shopping yet.

They are claiming today that Apple would be about to announce that it has acquired Quattro Wireless, a mobile advertising company. After Google acquired Admob, I guess Quattro was all that was left for Apple, but I still wonder if the fact that their biggest client is Disney played a role.

Lastly, this might also explain why Apple just patented an Ad-sponsored App Store :

I don’t like the sound of that…

  1. Well lets just say we didnt see this coming. For a software that does so much & free, it was just a matter of time.

  2. another absurd patent that fails the obiouseness test. the only possible reason for apple to do this is to get a weapon against the rock and cydia.
