January 7, 2010
It looks as if EA is going to try and ride the Sims brand all the way to the bank on the iPhone and iPod touch just as they have on the PC. The company has revealed a brand new iPhone and iPod touch Sims game titled The Sims 3 World Adventures that will be sort of a sequel to the original The Sims 3 game that was released about six months ago.
The Sims 3 World Adventures will allow you to take your Sim abroad to three exotic destination, including "Al Simhara" in Egypt, "Champs Les Sims" in France, and "Shang SimLa" in China. The game will feature 52 new goals and four new mini-games, all with an international twist.
If you already own The Sims 3, don't fret, you will be able to transfer your character back and forth between both versions of the game, so your favorite Sim will always be with you. You will also be able to transfer some of the in-app purchase content from The Sims 3 to The Sims 3 World Adventures.
EA is also boasting that The Sims 3 World Adventures will include Sims-style music from "well-known artists," although they only list LeAnn Rimes at the moment.
Pricing and a release date have yet to be announced.
Embedded below is a video of LeAnn Rimes actually singing in Simlish. If you aren't sure what Simlish is, check out the Wikipedia page devoted to the language.
