Apple allowing developers greater access to the iPhone’s camera has brought us a lot of new interesting apps. For example, you don’t need to own a 3GS anymore to make movies from your iPhone, and even though the quality isn’t great, it’s better than nothing.
iCamcorder 2G/3G is one of those apps. It allows you to quickly make movies from any iPhone generation, but the developers didn’t stop there. Their latest update allows you to zoom as you’re filming and even embellish your videos with a couple realtime effects.
For the Charlie Chaplin wannabes, for example, there is the “old movie” effect :
If you’re looking for plain videos, the quality is comparable to what you would get on a RAZR :

Saw this just recently, and wow loooks awesome. I’ve tested out iVideoCamer, Qik and iVidCam. But what interested me the most is the real time effects of iCamcorder. So i’d love to test this out.

From the previews, this appears to be a very well put together app. I haven’t found an app for my 3G that seems to be a good “camcorder” app. I’d definitely give this one a whirl, though.

The app looks great, especially the zoom whilst recording and effects. I’m a 3GS owner and would like both these functions.
