January 26, 2010
With less than a day to go before Apple's big event, McGraw-Hill's CEO has basically confirmed the existence of the long-rumored Apple tablet during a CNBC interview, and that it will run an iPhone-based OS.
"Yeah, Very exciting. Yes, they'll make their announcement tomorrow on this one. We have worked with Apple for quite a while. And the Tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system and so it will be transferable. So what you are going to be able to do now is we have a consortium of e-books. And we have 95% of all our materials that are in e-book format on that one. So now with the tablet you're going to open up the higher education market, the professional market. The tablet is going to be just really terrific."Did you hear that? It's going to be terrific! You can choose to believe Mr. McGraw and start pulling large wads of cash out of your bank account, or you can sit back and enjoy the show tomorrow and wait for Steve Jobs himself to hold up this terrific machine. It's your call. The CNBC interview is embedded below, and all of the juicy Apple-related goodness is around the 2:50 mark. Enjoy.
