January 18, 2010

Isaac Newton's Gravity is an upcoming game from Namco, and their first of 2010. It's a physics based puzzler as you might assume from the name. In every level you're given a different layout, and you need to add pieces for a ball or little cart to push the button at the end. Gravity_eyes In some levels you add straight pieces to clear gaps. On others you add marbles or eyeballs to roll into each other. Then on other levels you need to set up a domino like layout. Every level will require multiple retires to figure out how the ball or cart will interact with the pieces. 50 deluxe and challenging levels are included at launch made by namco. A level editor is also included which then allows for a nearly limitless number of levels as users upload their levels for anyone to download. Facebook connect is included to share your achievements, with 10 different ones. Gravity_editor Playing through the game these are the toughest physics puzzles I have yet faced on the iPhone. The levels are amazingly complex especially once you get to double digit levels. There are multiple pieces you need to include for the ball or cart to make it through, and some pieces are included that aren't necessary to solve the puzzle, just there to throw you off. Gravity_both The game has great visuals with 50 amazingly ornate backgrounds. The controls are as you would expect as you tap and drag an item to move it around, and then tilt by dragging the highlighted gear around an object. A deluxe hint system is also included, but each hint request costs, and if you use them too much you will run out of points to spend on hints. The game will be released this Thursday 1/21, and we will have a full review once it hits the App Store. The game will be priced at $3.99. See all of the screenshots below.
