iPhone 3.2 SDK Hints At Video Chat For iPhone/iPad

February 21, 2010

While we tend to doubt analyst reports that predict new iPhone features, finding pieces of codes and actual graphics in Apple's own beta versions of upcoming iPhone firmwares is a whole different story.

Indeed, 9to5mac dug even further in the latest version of the iPhone development kit, and came across some very interesting bits. The telephony part of iPhone 3.2 includes not only graphics but also pieces of code that indicate a possible future video conferencing feature. This is furthermore being referred to, in the code, as "iChat".

iPhone OS 3.2 is the system that will run on the iPad and possibly soon on the iPhone so this is definitely getting our hopes pretty high. This could also mean that Apple is finally going for front facing camera's on its iDevices.

Yay?
