Macworld 2010: iPad Thoughts From the Show Floor

The entire macworld conference had the recent announcement of the iPad hanging over it. There was a renewed interest on the show floor because of the iPad with every single booth considering it.
Through the week carrying my 4-5 lb. laptop all around, and having the battery die repeatedly made the iPad that much more important for me. I could only imagine carrying around a 1.5 lb. device in a thin form factor with 10 hours of battery life.
The iPad could have allowed me to take notes from booth visits extremely easily, and then write the entire thing up on the iPad. Then upload the pictures, and post the articles right then and there for your consumption. Considering a case to sling over your shoulder, carrying the iPad like I do with my camera case would seem second nature.
The overall feeling of the conference was excitement for the iPad, but unsure on its success outside of the attendees. With case makers full steam ahead, omni group readying iPad applications, and many word processors aiming to compete with Apple's Pages the iPad looks to have a good backing as a productivity device along with its obvious entertainment qualities. It's all up to 3rd party developers to make this device truly great, and it looks like they're ready and willing to do so.
If people can truly analyze and realize how they do use a computer, and not how they could use a computer I think more people would be interested in an iPad. After making it through the week with shore shoulders, and not posting anything, there is no device like an iPad to change that.
