Makeshift's Multiplayer Drawing Game Depict Is Going HD For iPad
March 31, 2010
Makeshift Games has announced that their popular multiplayer drawing game Depict is going to be hitting the iPad in HD form and I couldn't be any more excited. The game is already fantastic on the iPhone, offering entertaining spurts of pictionary-like gameplay, and it will be even more fantastic on the iPad thanks to its large screen and additional features.
Depict HD's gameplay will be just like the iPhone version's, including the same frantic global or private matches, five rounds for quick fun, multiple choice answers, 40 colors to draw with, the ability to punish cheaters, and the works. It's the same game you know and love on your iPhone just bigger for the iPad, although there are just a couple of exceptions.
The game will no longer have in-app purchases. Instead, all of the add-on content (avatar editor and second game mode) from the iPhone version will be built in to the iPad version. All future updates and feature additions will be available for free to Depict HD owners as well. OpenFeint won't be included at launch, but once OpenFeint releases their SDK, the feature will be added via the first update.
Makeshift hopes to have Depict HD available in the App Store on launch day for $1.99. $1.99 you say?! The iPhone version is free! Sure it is, but the two in-app purchases available in the iPhone version of the game are included in the iPad version, putting that $1.99 price point right on point. And don't forget, Depict HD owners will receive free feature upgrades.
