For those old enough to remember, there used to be these places called record shops where music lovers would flock to so they could listen to and buy music. You could congregate, share and discover new music with your fellow music aficionados. While record shops are all but extinct, the sharing aspect of music still lives on especially with apps like Jingle!, which allows you take music discovery and sharing on to a grander scale with Twitter.
Jingle! is a simple app that integrates Twitter into your device's iPod functionality. Hear a great song and want to instantly share it with all of your friends? Just open up the app and after a few button taps, your song selection is up on Twitter with your own comments and a link to iTunes in case your followers are interested in downloading your current song of choice. You can kind of think of it as FourSquare but with music.
All of your media is accessible from within the app so grab any song or even podcasts and audiobooks from your iPod's library to share. Jingle! also keeps a running tab of all of your posted Jingle comments so you can view them over time and see your music sharing history. And when available, the app provides the iTunes link in your Twitter post so your friends can go into the store and check it out.
While, there are alternatives in the app store to share music through Twitter, Jingle! handles the task easily with iTunes integration and access to all audio media type on your iPod. Best of all, it's free!
