We were first told about Warpgate back in June of last year, and after 9 months and a brand new idevice imminent Warpgate is making it's debut as Warpgate HD. The highly anticipated game from Freeverse will be part of the iPad App Store grand opening.
The game is about conquesting space with nothing similar in the App Store. In space there are over 35 star systems to explore with 172 different starships. It'a all about exploring space and choosing to expand, exploit, or exterminate anyone you come in contact with. Will you make allies or foes as your conquest unfolds going between planets, and meeting varying space factions of aliens and pirates. There are over 100 main quests to enjoy that progress the overall plot of the game.
The game is still coming to the iPhone/iPod Touch, and will have the same kind of amazing details as it was originally designed for the 3.5" screen. Plus+ will be included at launch, and the main difference between the two titles is the graphical optimization for each device whether it be iPad, iPhone 3GS, or 1st gen devices.
Warpgate HD will be $7.99, and available April 3rd, though the price and screenshots are subject to change.
