Evil iTunes Update Might Mess With Future Jailbreaks
This might be coming a bit too late for some of you, but we've just heard from the Dev-team that last night's iTunes update might be more evil than usual. Indeed, according to Musclenerd, it might prevent you from using some of the upcoming jailbreaks for the iPad and the iPhone.
Here are his words:
In general, those using *any* userland JB should avoid iTunes updates, since iTunes can detect & remove it.
Alright, so what's happening is that a certain @comex figured out a new way to jailbreak your iPhone/iPad using nothing more than mobile safari. It's super convenient, but easier for Apple to kill through an iTunes update. So while this might not affect classical jailbreak systems, it might have you waiting or working a bit extra to have the jailbreak in the future.
So for now, just avoid it. It's too late? Well, we'll figure something out when the time comes.
