Linkin Park Starts A Rebellion In 8-Bit On iPhone And iPad

You've listened to their nu metal music, and now you can play in Linkin Park's 8-Bit world and be a part of the rebellion on your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion is a brand new side-scroller by Artificial Life that's apparently directly "from the imagination of Linkin Park." In the game you will travel through six uniquely-themed districts designed for each band member that feature characters and items designed by the band themselves. The goal is to take down the evil PixxelKorp who is hell-bent on turning your peaceful 8-bit world into a high-resolution nightmare by utilizing all of the devastating weapons at your disposal.

The game features the ability to customize your hero and apartment within the game with all kinds of goodies, and share your experience with friends via Facebook and Twitter. Rebellion points that are accumulated by completing mission objectives and defeating bosses can be compared with friends around the world as well. But what would a Linkin Park game be without some Linkin Park music?! Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion features eight hit tracks from the band in both original and 8-bit form that can be listened to at any time during the game. Now, I am not the biggest Linkin Park fan in the world, but the 8-bit versions of these songs totally fit the game and are neat to hear. As an added bonus, when you complete the game you will unlock a previously unreleased song titled "Blackbirds." How is that for incentive to finish a game? Linkin Park 8-Bit Rebellion is now available in the App Store for all of Apple's mobile platforms. The only question Linkin Park fans will have to ask themselves is which version to get, as the iPhone and iPod touch version is priced at $4.99 and the iPad version is separately priced at $4.99. Sadly, it isn't a universal game.
