MiniSquadron Special Edition Soars Into The App Store
April 23, 2010
Developer MrFungFung has just released MiniSquadron Special Edition, a sort of pseudo-sequel to the hit frantic arcade flying game originally released for the iPhone and iPod touch back in late 2009.
MiniSquadron Special Edition builds upon the success of the original MiniSquadron by providing all sorts of new content while still featuring the same colorful graphics and superb single-stick flying controls.
The game sports eight brand new levels, helicopters which provide a unique gameplay element, over 50 more planes to unlock, new power-ups, a new fireball weapon, and all kinds of new animals to shoot down. That's, of course, in addition to all of the original weapons and power-ups, and it still features OpenFeint and local multiplayer just like the original.
MiniSquadron Special Edition is now available in the App Store free of charge, but only includes two of the eight new levels. The other six levels can be obtained via in-app purchase as packs of two for $.99 each. So, in essence, if you want the full MiniSquadron Special Edition experience, it will still cost you about the same as the original, but at least you get to try it for free.
