The blatant success of the App Store has a lot of people wondering if Apple will apply the same concept to regular Mac OS applications. I mean, what if there was a Mac OS App Store where you could conveniently find and buy all your new software through an unified interface, while Apple would make sure it’s malware-free?
Alright, that last part is somewhat prone to criticisms actually.
Anyway, a MacStories reader claims he contacted Steve Jobs directly about this and apparently; they’re planning no such thing.
Good call? Or would you enjoy such a platform?

Hmm I’ve never emailed him before. Well actually I just did. I asked if he would use his magic to enable copy and paste to work with multitasking. I would like to have Pastebot running in the background grabbing everything that I copy and adding it to it’s clipboard. Shaaaah
I emailed Steve a few month’s back to ask him if he wanted to come out for a drink with me and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen. This is the reply i received…
“Sit on my face.
Sent from my iPhone”
What’s Steve Job’s email address?
sjobs (at) apple.com
Note that Jobs (assuming this is the real deal) said nope to the question that included “and no software without auth from Apple will run on Mac OSX”. That in no way means that Apple is not building an App store for the Mac, just that they will not be making the Mac a closed environment. A Mac app store would be awesome!
For some reason, Steve Jobs seem so cruel.
