Next Apple TV With Apps & Streaming Unveiled?
It seems like Apple might have something coming up to battle Google in the living room space. According to Engadget, a new Apple TV is in the works, and it's based on the iPhone.
Yep, yet another Apple product based on the iPhone. Hardware-wise first, as it will embed the same internals as the iPhone 4. Software-wise too as it will run on iPhone OS4 and might even get an App Store. As to the most important part, content, Apple is apparently going all cloudy-based from now on and will make all of its library streamable in 1080p. The device is reportedly very small with just a few plugs and it would only cost about a $100.
In short, it's a $100 no-screen iPhone with 1080p output and iTunes streaming.
Bad news however, it won't be announced on the 7th apparently, as this event will be mostly focusing on the new iPhone. We should still expect it fairly soon though.
